London: Melanie Chisholm has revealed that being in the world`s biggest girl group Spice Girls sent her spiraling into depression.
The 39-year-old singer told the Daily Star that she needed counselling and developed an eating disorder after being propelled to international stardom and at her worst, she struggled to get out of bed and was on anti-depressants for 18 months.
The mum-of-one, who once credited her daughter Scarlet with saving her life, said that being a pop star very tough. She asserted that it`s hard as you are achieving your dreams but getting incredibly f**ked up in the head at the same time. Chisholm said there are so many pitfalls - whether it`s drink, drugs, financial, relationships with family, friends and partners, it`s a real minefield. ANI
