Chennai: Kamal Haasan, whose film ‘Vishwaroopam’ has been banned in Tamil Nadu, has said that he is deeply saddened by the High Court’s verdict and pained to see his film land in troubled waters. In an interview to Zeenews, Haasan said that he is not worried as a producer about the massive financial loss he has suffered because of the ban on the film, but as an artist who has produced art on celluloid. He said that an artist makes a film for the audiences but if the same runs into controversy for no substantial or justified reasons, then it does pinch the heart. He said that he is an artist and hence the agony. The thespian also said that he is not a politician to seek votes and that he has no intentions of joining He is also not contesting elections. A visibly pained Haasan admitted that he is indeed shattered because of the unwanted noise that people are creating over his film. “I am not in tears but my heart is bleeding,” said the actor. Haasan believes that if a film gets entangled in controversies even before it hits the silver screen, then it does leave the artist in dismay.
