Bobby Brown out of rehab

Los Angeles: Bobby Brown has checked out of his rehab facility less than three weeks after checking in. The 43-year-old singer, who agreed to go to rehab as part of his plea deal that made his March DUI arrest disappear, had originally planned on undergoing treatment for his alcohol addiction issues for a longer period but he has had a change of heart, reported Radar online. Now, family and friends are concerned that Brown is not taking his sobriety seriously, which could lead to trouble. "Bobby is no longer in rehab, he decided he has had enough treatment for his problems. When he first checked in, he promised his family and friends, including his New Edition band mates, that this time he was going to stay in rehab for the full treatment. That is normally a 90-day program," a source said. "However, after fulfilling his duties for his DUI plea deal, Bobby has decided that he does not need treatment anymore. "Bobby`s family and friends are terrified, despite his pleas that he is sober, that he will fall off the wagon once again," the source added. Brown was arrested for drunk-driving just weeks after ex-wife Whitney Houston was found dead in a Beverly Hills hotel bathroom. He was fined USD 390 and ordered to attend a 90-day alcohol education program after pleading no contest to driving under the influence in April. His attorney Christopher Brown said, "Mr Brown takes his agreement very seriously and admitted himself three weeks after concluding his honeymoon in Mexico during a break from the New Edition tour. Bobby is doing well and receiving services that comply with his agreement with the state of California." In a separate statement, his new wife and manager, Alicia Etheredge said, "Bobby`s children and loved ones are very proud of him. We appreciate his fans` prayers and well wishes. Bobby is mentally in a good place." PTI
