Washington: President Barack Obama raised a pint of dark Irish brew at a well-known Irish pub on Saturday to observe St. Patrick’s Day.
He was accompanied by his ancestral cousin from Moneygall, Ireland for the celebration.
At the White House, the main South Lawn Fountain turned green and the workers residing close by prepared for Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny’ visit on Tuesday. The first family was putting on its Irish, a blood line that runs through Obama’s veins, Fox news reported. The 50-year-old, who took his motorcade to the Dubliner Restaurant and Pub, sported a jacket, which was pierced with a button that read, “VIP GUEST – Tell `em Danny sent you.” The president waded into a crowd, which included a few in leprechaun hats while others in dyed green hair, at the entrance of the tavern near Washington’s landmark Union Station.
