Father Randhir Kapoor blesses newly weds Saif, Kareena

Mumbai: An elated father of the bride, veteran actor Randhir Kapoor, blessed newly hitched Bollywood couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor at a grand reception in Mumbai. Bollywood stars, friends and family members of actors Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor attended their gala wedding reception party hosted at the Taj Hotel in Mumbai on Tuesday. Earlier in the day, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor tied the knot in Mumbai in a low-key ceremony after a courtship of five years. “We are very happy that they have got married, the way they wanted. Two lovely people have got married, without any conversions, about caste, creed or anything. Two lovers got married to two lovely people and I am very happy,” said Randhir Kapoor. The ecstatic father asked the fans and media to bestow their blessings on the newly weds whose wedding has caused massive frenzy in the world of entertainment. “I would request the fans of Saif and Kareena to pray for the happiness of the newly weds,” he added. He also confirmed that the actress would be retaining her surname and be called ‘Kareena Kapoor Khan.’ The couple were married by a marriage registrar in the presence of family and friends at their house. Khan and Kapoor came out of the house to greet fans and the media after the ceremony, smiling and waving to onlookers. Guests from the Bollywood fraternity, family members and high-profile industrialists attended the reception. Reportedly, Khan’s ancestral property in Pataudi, Haryana, is also being spruced up for a post-wedding party. This was the most high-profile wedding in the Indian film industry since actors Abhishek Bachchan got married Aishwarya Rai in April 2007. Khan, 42, and Kapoor, 32, are one of Bollywood`s most high-profile couples, appearing in several movies and advertisements together. ANI
