New Delhi/San Fransisco: Apple went small on Monday -- cutting prices as well as screen size -- as it unveiled the new iPhone SE.
Priced at Rs 39,000, it the cheapest-ever iPhone aimed at first-time buyers and customers in emerging markets.
The product is coming to India on April 8. Apple initially announced the price of the phone to be Rs 30,000, however it later clarified that the price was actually over Rs 39,000.
The iPhone SE will be aimed at first-time Apple buyers and those who want to upgrade from the iPhone 5S and 5C, which have not been updated in over two years.
The iPhone SE is available in 16GB and 64GB versions, A9 chip with 64-bit architecture. It comes with 4‑inch (diagonal) LED-backlit widescreen Multi‑Touch display.
The phone packs 12-megapixel iSight camera with 1.22µ pixels and has a Fingerprint sensor built into the Home button.
It runs iOS 9 that includes: AirDrop, AirPlay, AirPrint, Control Centre, Handoff, Homekit, iCloud, iCloud Keychain, Multitasking, Night Shift, Notification Centre and Siri.
