Mumbai: ‘Why this kolaveri di’ song that went viral on the web and became a huge rage amongst the internet users, hasn’t gone down too well with lyricist writer Javed Akhtar.
He finds the new youth anthem rather ordinary and inappropriate.
He posted a message on Twitter, “Kolaveri-D. Every one is praising the robes but the emperor is naked. Tune ordinary, singing substandard, words an insult to sensibility.”
But given the fan following of the song and its popularity, Akhtar’s feedback on the song got instant replies which were harsh indeed. A fans of the ‘Kolaveri’ song tweeted, “Plz… I liked “Kolavari Di” n song is a new youth anthem… n “Meri Laundry Ka Ek Bill” remember ?? nana na na na??
Akhtar got defensive and tweeted, “What kind of logic is this even if all my songs are trash, meaningless, unbearable how does that make this Kolaveri D good?”
Well, we think the veteran writer and lyricist has had a bout of overreacting in this case it seems!
