In February, we first reported that Suzuki is working on an S-Cross facelift when the pictures surfaced online. Since then, we have had no updates regarding the car. In July, the facelift resurfaced and was later showcased at an event in Hungary. And now it seems that the car has reached dealerships, since an image has been posted online by Perugiamotori Suzuki.
The biggest change remains in the front of the car, with the introduction of a new bumper, hood, headlamps, air dam, and the more aggressive chrome grille that features vertical slats. Moving on to the rest of the profiles, the number of tweaks decrease and are only limited to chrome window trims and a new tail lamp cluster. Inside the car, the cabin remains identical to the current one, with minor tweaks. It is being said that the facelift will come with an updated infotainment system and a new multi-information display in the instrument cluster, but we will have to wait and find out.
Under the newly sculpted hood, any information on the engines remains hidden. What we wish, though, is that Suzuki incorporates the 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder 'Boosterjet' engine in the car – the same engine that was seen in the Vitara S at the Geneva Motor Show. In India, Maruti offers the 1.3-litre DDiS 200 and the 1.6-litre DDiS320 diesel engine in the S-Cross, which might remain unchanged if this car makes its way into the country.
