Datsun redi-GO: See what's Inside?

The Datsun redi-GO is built to price just like its French sibling, the Renault Kwid. The vehicle is priced aggressively and competes with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800, theHyundai Eon, and the Renault Kwid as well. The Kwid came with several segment-first features and this has played a crucial part in its overwhelming success. The redi-GO, on the hand, is cheaper than the competitively-priced Kwid by Rs 14,000 to Rs 38,000 and misses out on a lot of things compared to the latter. But the redi-GO has a price advantage which will certainly overshadow everything. Here’s what Datsun’s most affordable offering has to offer on the inside.

The cost cuttings that Datsun has made to keep its prices cut throat are largely evident on the inside, in contrast to the Renault Kwid. A lot of body panels are visible, but the automaker has given clever touches to make them look aesthetically good.

The instrument cluster is borrowed from the GO clan, but features subtle differences. The driver information system now comes with a digital gearshift indicator, unlike the GO/GO+ which have a manual one. Moreover, the new steering wheel looks sportier compared to its siblings.

There is no Bluetooth connectivity in any of the audio systems the company has to offer. The top-end variant comes with radio and CD/MP3 playback along with aux-in and USB connectivity. This is a brand new unit and is not even offered with the GO hatch as well. The mid-variant borrows the audio system from the GO, featuring the mobile docking station. In terms of connectivity it offers aux-in while there is a USB port on offer, but only for charging.

The interior space is similar to that of the Kwid — having nearly identical wheelbase and sharing the same platform, which is one of best in the segment. Datsun has highlighted that the front seats are ‘low-fatigue seats’ just like how they marketed with the GO as well. Speaking of the boot space, the redi-GO comes with 222-litres of boot space, which can be extended further by folding the rear bench.
