Varun Dhawan, Shashank Khaitan to team up again for action thriller. Will Janhvi Kapoor play female lead?

New Delhi: Actor Varun Dhawan has teamed up in the past with Shashank Khaitan for 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya' and 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania'. And not very long ago, filmmaker Karan Johar had announced on his Twitter handle that his favourite actor-director duo will team up again for an action genre film. 

Karan described their third outing as 'solid spectcle with beating hearts' which would be a Diwali 2020 release. 

However, as per reports, the film has been pushed away to a later date and Varun and Shashank are gearing up for another action-thriller which would be on the lines of super heroes and spy thriller. 

Shashank, whose latest directorial venture 'Dhadak' garenered mixed reviews at the Box Office, is currently working on the subject and an official announcement about the same will be made once things get materialise. 

'Dhadak' actress Janhvi Kapoor, who has appeared to be the current favourite of Karan Johar, will apparently play the female lead opposite Varun. The film is expected to take off towards the middle of next year. 

Varun was last seen in 'Sui Dhaaga: Made In India' alongside Anushka Sharma. The film has received positive reviews and has happened to be one of the most acclaimed movies of this year.
