Ranbir Kapoor to begin shooting for Yash Raj Films' Shamshera?

New Delhi: Actor Ranbir Kapoor ended his dry run at the Box Office after delivering blockbuster 'Sanju' this year. The film earned him rave reviews and accolades from all over for his performance in the film.

And now, the actor is all set to kickstart his next project, titled 'Shamshera'. As per Bollywood Bubble, the film will go on the floors on Saturday, which is December 1st. The actor will be sharing the screen space with Sanjay Dutt in the film. 'Shamshera' will entice the viewers on July 31, 2020. Looks like the filmmakers are blocking dates for next two years in advance and it's going to be packed houses for fans.

It is set to be an action-adventure and will also star Vaani Kapoor alongside Ranbir. The film will be directed by Karan Malhotra.

Earlier this year, the official Twitter handle of Yash Raj Films shared the first look of the film which showed Ranbir dressed up as a dacoit. The first look created a rage among the audience.

Recently, the cast and crew of the film came together for a puja, a well-known YRF tradition started by late filmmaker Yash Chopra. Apart from Ranbir, the pooja was also attended by Vaani Kapoor, who plays his love interest in the film and director Karan Malhotra. Sanjay Dutt couldn’t attend the ceremony as he was busy with prior commitments.

Earlier, in a statement, Ranbir had said, "'Shamshera' is exactly the film I was looking for. While growing up watching Hindi commercial cinema, I had an image of what a film hero should be doing. 'Shamshera' allows me to do everything that I had imagined and it’s a very exciting project for me."

In the meantime, the actor has been shooting for Ayan Mukerji's 'Brahmastra'. The film also features Amitabh Bachchan and Alia Bhatt.
