New Delhi: The first poster of one of the most-awaited films of 2018, 'Omerta', starring Rajkummar Rao is finally out today. The trailer of the film will be out in two days, i.e March 14.

Rajkummar ruled the box office completely in 2017 with films like 'Trapped', 'Behen Hogi Teri', 'Bareilly Ki Barfi', 'Newton' and 'Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana' and his digital debut 'Bose: Dead or alive' and this year too he has upped the expectations of his audience by sharing an intriguing poster of his 2018 film 'Omerta'.

Talking about his role in Omerta, Rajkummar shared on Twitter," #Omerta the story of an Antagonist. The trailer will be out in 2 days. Easily the toughest character I’ve played till date."

Anurag Kashyap also took to Twitter to express his views about the film,  “Omertà is not an easy film to pitch, to sell .. about the most unsympathetic man.. a very hard character to play on screen and a harder film to make .. put together by the most courageous duo of @mehtahansal and @RajkummarRao . Looking forward to see it on screen..”

The film, that received appreciation across several film festivals including the Toronto International Film Festival, is based on the real-life story of one of the most dreaded British terrorist of Pakistani descent, Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh. Shot in real locations across London and India, Hansal Mehta's Omertà exposes the real and present danger of sponsored terrorism. Based on some of the horrifying terror attacks in recent history including the 9/11 world trade center attacks, the Mumbai Terror Strike and the brutal beheading of American journalist Daniel Pearl, 'Omertà' is a thriller that looks into the journey of an evil mind.

At the TIFF, where the film premiered, director Hansal Mehta had told Indian Express that there can be a problem with the censor board.

"Let’s see. We will cross the bridge when we come to it. There will be a problem. But I hope they (censor board) understand the film’s context. We haven’t done anything to sensationalise."

'Omerta' would mark the fourth collaboration between Hansal Mehta and Rajkummar Rao after 'Shahid', 'Citylights' and 'Aligarh'.

Produced by Swiss Entertainment in association with Karma Media and directed by Hansal Mehta, 'Omertà' starring Rajkummar Rao releases on April 20th, 2018.
