Katrina Kaif to play a Pakistani girl in film starring Varun Dhawan?

Mumbai: If the latest buzz is anything to go by, Katrina Kaif will be essaying a Pakistani girl in Remo D'Souza's dance film starring Varun Dhawan in the lead role.

And if this speculation turns out to be true, Katrina will play a Pakistani character for the second time on screen. She has played Zoya, a spy from Pakistan in Salman Khan's Tiger franchise ('Ek Tha Tiger' directed by Kabir Khan and 'Tiger Zinda Hai' by Ali Abbas Zafar).

According to a report in dnaindia.com, Varun will play an Indian in the film and Katrina - a Pakistani. The two will meet during an international dance competition. The dance-based film will be enveloped in a cross-border love story. The film is touted as the biggest dance film ever but the makers haven't yet disclosed the title of the film.

Rumours suggest that the film is the third instalment of the ABCD series but nothing has been revealed yet.

Varun and Katrina will make a refreshing pair on screen as they have never worked on a film as a reel couple in the past. Varun was a part of the second instalment of the ABCD series. He had romanced Shraddha Kapoor in it.

The film is expected to go on floors in January next year and may hit theatres on November 8, 2019.

Apart from this film, Varun has Dharma Productions' Kalank in his kitty while Katrina has Salman Khan's 2019 Eid release Bharat in the pipeline. She also has two big releases scheduled for release this year - Thugs of Hindostan with Aamir Khan and Zero with Shah Rukh Khan.
