Bhopal: Actress Kangana Ranaut, who recently wrapped up the post-production work of her period-drama film 'Manikarnika: Queen Of Jhansi', on Sunday commenced shooting for Ashwini Iyer Tiwari's upcoming film 'Panga'.

Tiwari, who announced the news of the project in August, has films like 'Nil Battey Sannata' and 'Bareilly Ki Barfi' to her credit. She took to Twitter to share a photograph of the film's clapboard, writing, "In alignment to a dream. 'Panga'. Cinema love, 11.11."

Apart from Kangana, the film would also star Richa Chadha, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi and Punjabi singer-actor Jassie Gill. The film will be about a newage family who challenges stereotypes and dare to dream.

On Friday, Kangana was spotted at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji airport while she was leaving for Bhopal. Kangana would finish a 20 day shoot schedule for the film in Madhya Pradesh's capital city.

In the film, the three-time national award winner would be seen as a Kabaddi player. It was earlier reported that for her role, Kangana had been learning the tricks of the game but also started to undergo a complete physical transformation that will be required to justify her character.

Reports said that that Kangana would be piling up at least 6-7 kilos of weight to do justice to the role of a Kabaddi player. And as the film will progress, she will be back to her normal self to the petite figure she owns.

"Putting on more mass will be a task for Kangana as she is genetically small framed. Kangana may need to incorporate weight training exercises instead. So, it's going to be a gala time for Kangana to turn a foodie and enjoy a generous serving of nut shakes, fruits and tofu on her dietary chart," the source added.

In the film, Kangana will be paired opposite Jassie Gill. 'Panga' will be produced by Fox Star Hindi and will be released in 2019.
