IIFA 2018: Rekha performs after 20 years, sets the stage on fire - Watch

Mumbai: Evergreen beauty Rekha set the IFFA 2018 stage on fire as she performed to her super-hit songs at the gala awards ceremony. The eternal diva of Indian cinema recreated her Umrao Jaan avatar and looked absolutely gorgeous in an Anarkali dress. 

She performed at the IIFA stage after a hiatus of 20 years and this was indeed of a moment of great pride for the organisers.

The team of IIFA shared a video of the legendary actress performing on stage to her popular song Salaam-e-Ishq.

"The very evergreen #Rekha ji performed at the IIFA stage after 20 long years and we couldn't be more honoured to have her.(sic)."

Apart from Rekha's spellbinding performance, the audience was also enthralled by Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon and Iulia Vantur.

Karan Johar and Riteish Deshmukh who hosted the main event also apparently had an awesome time hosting the glitzy ceremony.

The International Indian Film Academy Awards popularly known as IIFA was held in Siam Niramit Theatre in Bangkok, Thailand this year. The annual event held at international destinations sees an array of stars from the Indian film fraternity descend to enthral overseas fans. This year was no different.

The first IIFA event was held in 2000 in London followed by Sun City in South Africa, Genting Highlands in Malaysia, Johannesburg in South Africa, Singapore, Amsterdam in Netherlands, Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Sheffield in United Kingdom, Bangkok in Thailand, Macau, Colombo in Sri Lanka, Toronto in Canada, Singapore, Macau, Tampa in United States, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Madrid in Spain, New Jersey in the United States of America in the subsequent years respectively.
