Mumbai: Bollywood stars are on their way to Thailand for the 19th edition of International Indian Film Academy Awards aka IIFA, a star-studded event scheduled to be held on 22nd & 24th June at the at the reputed Siam Niramit Theatre.

The IIFA has collaborated with the Osian's (India’s foremost Arts and cultural Institution & Auction House) for the first time in order to preserve the heritage of Indian cinema.

The first-ever Cinema Heritage Auction outside of India that showcases vintage cinema memorabilia is being held by Osian’s in association with the IIFA Foundation at IIFA 2018. A glimpse of the memorabilia was displayed at the Official IIFA press conferences held in Mumbai and Delhi as a precursor to the grand exhibition and auction to be held at the Marriott Marquis hotel between the 21st & 23rd of June. This auction is expected to significantly help increase the awareness and efforts towards the needs and value of preserving India’s cinematic heritage. 

Actor Bobby Deol was present at the venue that held the exhibition of paintings and posters of classic Hindi films in Bangkok, reports ANI.

There will be performances by Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon and Lulia Vantur. And last but not the least, viewers will witness a mesmerizing performance by India’s most loved actress and timeless beauty Rekha.

The main event will be hosted by Karan Johar and Riteish Deshmukh.

The first IIFA event was held in 2000 in London followed by Sun City in South Africa, Genting Highlands in Malaysia, Johannesburg in South Africa, Singapore, Amsterdam in Netherlands, Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Sheffield in United Kingdom, Bangkok in Thailand, Macau, Colombo in Sri Lanka, Toronto in Canada, Singapore, Macau, Tampa in United States, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Madrid in Spain, New Jersey in the United States of America in the subsequent years respectively.
