Mumbai: Bollywood didn’t have a great time at the Box Office in 2017. Only a handful of big films lived up to the hype and expectations and the rest proved to be dismal failures.

Small budget and non-Khan starrer films did relatively well at the Box Office besides superstar Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Ajay Devgn’s Golmaal Again. The year thankfully ended on a happy note with Salman Khan starrer Tiger Zinda Hai minting over Rs 250 crores in just 10 days.

But 2018 has a number of new things to offer to Bollywood fans! This year, we will see a number of fresh on screen pairings. Check out the new reel-jodis to look forward to this year:

Padman – Akshay Kumar and Radhika Apte

The very talented Radhika Apte will be playing Akshay Kumar’s on screen wife on R Balki’s Padman, a film based on Padma Shri awardee Arunachalam Muruganantham’s noble initiate that played a pivotal role in creating awareness about menstrual hygiene in rural India.

The film is slated to release on January 26.

Padmavat – Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor

Both Shahid and Deepika have been in the industry for over a decade. It took them really long to team up for a film as a couple. They will be playing man and wife in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmavat.

The new release date hasn’t been announced yet.

Baaghi 2 – Disha Patani and Tiger Shroff

Real life couple Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani, who had teamed up for a song in the past will be romancing each other in a film for the first time. Disha has replaced Shraddha in the sequel to super-hit film Baaghi starring Tiger.

The film directed by Ahmed Khan will hit the screen on April 27.

Raazi - Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal

Alia Bhatt who has been roped in by Meghna Gulzar for a film titled Raazi will share screen space with Vicky Kaushal. The film is an adaptation of Harinder Sikka’s novel Calling Sehmat, which narrates the tale of a Kashmiri woman married to a Pakistani man during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.

The film is expected to release on May 11.

Fanne Khan – Aishwarya Rai and Rajkummar Rao

After romancing a much younger Ranbir Kapoor in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in 2016, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set to pair with Rajkummar Rao in Atul Manjrekar’s Fanne Khan. The film also stars Anil Kapoor.

Fanne Khan is scheduled for release on June 15.

Dhadak – Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar

Sridevi - Boney Kapoor’s daughter Janhvi and Neelima Azeem – Rajesh Khattar’s son Ishaan – are gearing up for their grand debut with Dharma Productions’ Dhadak, an official remake of Nagraj Manjule’s blockbuster Marathi film Sairat.

The film will release on July 6.

Saaho – Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor

The invincible Baahubali of Indian cinema – Prabhas – will have Shraddha Kapoor as his leading lady in Sujeeth Reddy’s film Saaho. The film is currently being shot simultaneously in three languages-  Telugu, Tamil and Hindi.

The release date hasn’t been announced yet.

Gold – Akshay Kumar and Mouni Roy

One of Indian TV’s most beautiful actresses – Mouni Roy, who cast an impressive spell on viewers as Naagin in the popular series, will make her Bollywood debut opposite Akshay Kumar in Reema Kagti’s Gold. The film is reportedly based on a hockey player who was a part of the team that won the first Olympic medal for Independent India.

The film will release on August 15.

Sui Dhaaga - Made in India  – Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma

Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma will be seen as a couple in Sui Dhaaga- Made In India, a Yash Raj Films’ production and directed by Sharat Kataria. The film is inspired by the Make In India initiative and is all about promoting indigenous produce.

Sui Dhaaga - Made in India will release on Gandhi Jayanti, October 2.

Kedarnath – Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan

Daughter of actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, Sara Ali Khan will make her Bollywood debut with Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath co-starring Sushant Singh Rajput. The film is being shot now and is expected to narrate a tale set in the backdrop of the aftermath of the 2012 Uttarakhand floods.

Kedarnath is expected to release on December 21.
