Anushka Sharma’s #ShashiWasThere Oscars 2017 announcement gaffe post is the funniest thing you will see today!

Mumbai: Anushka Sharma had a funny take on the embarrassing blunder during the announcement of the Best Picture award at the 89th Academy Awards event in Los Angeles on Sunday. The pretty actress, who is gearing up for ‘Phillauri’, a film in which she plays a spirit, took to her Instagram page to share a funny ‘ShashiWasThere’ post!

It is funny indeed!

For the initiated, presenters Warren Beatty was handed over a wrong envelope containing the name of the winner of the Best Actress in a Leading Role. When he was on stage with co-presenter Faye Dunaway to announce the name of the winner of Best Picture, after a short pause, announced ‘La La Land’! The envelope had Emma Stone’s name for her performance in ‘La La Land’. The actual winner of Best picture was ‘Moonlight’!

Sadly, the team of ‘La La Land’ was on stage to receive the award but when the organisers realised the blunder, ‘Moonlight’ was eventually announced the actual winner.

Interestingly, the announcement gaffe was gracefully handled by host Jimmy Kimmel and others present on stage.

Coming back to Bollywood, ‘Phillauri’ is Anushka’s second film as a producer. The film is set in the backdrop of two contrasting eras. Also starring Diljit Dosanjh, Suraj Sharma and Mehreez Pirzada, the Anshai Lal directorial is all set to release on March 24.
