Mumbai: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who recently wrapped up the tenth season of his game show, 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' has began shooting for his upcoming film 'Jhund' in Nagpur.

The senior Bachchan, as he is fondly called by his fans, took to Twitter and shared a few photograph of himself and wrote, "'Nagpur' for 'Jhund' -- the new project by Nagraj , his first in Hindi, the maker of 'Sairat' the Marathi blockbuster .. a centre of attraction and 'Nagpur', geographically apparently the centre of geographic India. May the two centres thrive!"

As per reports, Amitabh will embark on the film with a non-stop schedule in Nagpur. The total shoot duration is of 70-80 days, where he will shoot for 45 days straight in the city.

Speaking of 'Jhund', it is being directed by Nagraj Manjule and is reportedly based on the life of Vijay Barse, who is the founder of Slum Soccers. Amitabh essays the role of a professor who channelises the street children to build a soccer team.

The film is being produced by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series, Savita Raj Hiremath, Manjule under the banner of T-Series Films, Taandav Films Entertainment Ltd, and Aatpat.

Earlier, talking about the project, Manjule told IANS, "I chose the city of Nagpur because the story is based there. I wanted the look and feel to be as authentic as possible and Nagpur has its own unique charm, feel and locales, different from Mumbai and Pune. The language of the film would be best showcased in Nagpur, hence I chose the lanes of that city."

He also said teaming up with Bachchan, 75, is a "dream come true".

Apart from Jhund, Amitabh will also be seen in Sujoy Ghosh's 'Badla' along with actress Taapsee Pannu. He was last seen in Vijay Acharya's 'Thugs Of Hindostan'.
