Akshay Oberoi turns down ‘Fanney Khan’ opposite Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Mumbai: Actor Akshay Oberoi has reportedly declined an offer to star opposite Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in ‘Fanney Khan’. In the film, Aishwarya will be cast opposite a young actor and the makers are still on a hunt for the male lead.

According to a report in DNA, the team of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra Productions got in touch with Akshay but he chose not to accept the role owing to reasons unknown.

“Akshay Oberoi was approached for the film. Talks were initiated with the actor but it didn’t work out eventually. Now, they are still hunting for a young actor,” DNA quoted a source as saying.

Interestingly, there is a buzz suggesting that Akshay refused the film because he is related to Vivek Oberoi, Ash’s former beau.

Nonetheless, this wouldn’t be Ash’s first film with a young actor. She had romanced Ranbir Kapoor in Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and had set the silverscreen ablaze with her scorching hot chemistry with him.

And now it would be interesting to see who Aishwarya is paired with in this brand new film.
