New Delhi: Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan's 'Dangal' released in China to a rousing response. The film is racing ahead to become Bollywood's highest-earning film ever in China.

According to IANS, the film has already grossed over $ 3 million (Rs 21 crore) by the first half of the second day of its release on Saturday. 'Dangal earned Rs 15 crore on its opening day on Friday in China, reportedly.

By Saturday noon, it earned 23.4 million yuan (over Rs 21 crore), according to trade insiders on the Chinese box office. Interestingly, Aamir Khan's 'PK' was the only Indian movie to have crossed Rs 100 crore in China and it had done so in 16 days since its release.

The superstar is quite popular in China and now, looks like 'Dangal' is set to break the record of 'PK', both being Aamir Khan films.

In China 'Dangal' was released as 'Shuai Jiao Baba', which means 'Let's Wrestle, Dad'.

The producers said it would release in a record-breaking 9,000 screens in China, but as per trade experts, it has released in 7,000 screens out of the country's nearly 40,000 screens. According to reports, one of the big cinema chains has not shown interest in the movie. Still, it is doing well.

The film features Aamir in the lead, besides Sakshi Tanwar, debutantes Fatima Sana Sheikh, Sanya Malhotra, Zaira Wasim and Suhani Bhatnagar playing pivotal parts.

'Dangal' is a biopic based on the life of Mahavir Singh Phogat who taught wrestling to daughters Geeta and Babita despite receiving flak from the peers. While Geeta became India's first female wrestler to win gold at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in 55 kg. Her sister Babita Kumari won the silver medal in 51 kg.
