The superstar invested much time in sports biopic 'Dangal' and earned a lot of respect post the film's release. The venture not only was the perfect ode to Mahavir Singh Phogat's journey to train his daughters –Geeta and Babita Phogat in wrestling but also showed the world what Indian cinema is capable of delivering.

The good news is that 'Dangal' has created history for becoming the first ever Indian film raking in Rs 2000 crore at the box office globally. According to Pinikvilla.com, Forbes Magazine has listed out that the sports biopic has become the first Indian film in the history to earn Rs 2000 crore ($307 million) worldwide after it earned Rs. 2.5 crore on its 53rd day at the China box office.

The film has reportedly beaten the blockbuster venture likes Captain America: Civil War, xXx: Return Of Xander Cage, Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, Titanic 3D, The Jungle Book, Kung Fu Panda 3 etc to earn Rs 2000 at the box-office.

It has even become the fourth biggest Disney backed venture after Beauty And The Beast, Guardians of the GalaxyVol2 and Pirates Of The Caribbean5 at the World wide box office.

'Dangal' is a biopic based on the life of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, who taught wrestling to his daughters Geeta and Babita. both Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari went on win laurels for the country. The former became India's first female wrestler to win at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. She won the gold medal in 55 kg while her sister Babita Kumari won the silver medal in 51 kg.
