Taxi hailing app service Cabby starts from today
Gurgaon-based startup Cabby has announced its foray into cab aggregator segment with plans to start operations in Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru.
New Delhi: Gurgaon-based startup Cabby that announced its foray into cab aggregator segment in Delhi-NCR will start its operation on Friday.
Cabby application have already been made available on Google and Apple app stores from last night.
Cabby will have a base fare of Rs 37.50 for 5.5 km or 20 minutes of ride, whichever is earlier. It will compete with the likes of Ola and Uber.
"We are also launching our services in Bangalore on April 10 with a bigger audience. After that we are targetting Bombay and Chennai. We will further expand in tier 2 and tier 3 cities," Cabby Founder Sahil Arora said.
Besides running cabs in the mass-end segment, Cabby said it will also offer premium service with in-cab entertainment such as beverages, eateries and tablets with internet services.
Arora, who is just 18 years-old, said the total investment in to the venture is around Rs 10 crore but claimed there were no external investors in the company.
The USD 4 million fund for this venture was raised by selling a previous venture, he said.
Arora claimed that Cabby would also have a fleet of 500 cars driven by women for women riders to ensure safety.
