The German automaker is providing a push to the Volvo XC40 Recharge electric SUV as it is one of the best-selling models of the brand in India. As per the company's announcement, the EV sold 419 units from January 2023 to September 2023, which was 24 percent of the total sales volume. However, the Volvo XC60 had better sales, claiming 35 percent of the total sales volume.

Coming to the specifications, the XC40 Recharge can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds because of its dual-motor configuration, which produces 402 BHP and 660 Nm. The EV has a maximum range of 418 km on a single charge thanks to a 78 kWh battery pack.

The XC40 Recharge shares its underpinnings with the C40 Recharge. It cost Rs 61.25 lakh (ex-showroom) when it was first introduced in September, but it just underwent a price increase of Rs 1.7 lakh.

Volvo India has models like XC90 SUV and S90 sedan in the Indian market. However, the brand is currently focused on establishing itself as a luxury EV maker in the domestic market with the objective of a completely electrified portfolio by 2030.
