San Francisco: US-based A10 Networks, an application networking and security company, on Friday announced the acquisition of Appcito -- a provider of Software-As-A-Service (SaaS)-based, multi-cloud Application Delivery Controllers (ADC) solutions.
The acquisition positions A10 Networks as a comprehensive secure application services leader and will help customers become more secure as they bridge traditional and cloud application environments.
"We are helping our customers become both `cloud-ready` and `cloud-native.` We are excited about how Appcito fits into our vision to become the most comprehensive secure application services company in the industry," said Lee Chen, CEO, A10 Networks, in a statement.
New A10 "Harmony-based cloud" solution integrating Appcito technology will be available later this year.
The new solutions will include a cloud services controller for centralised application policy management and orchestration, elastic application traffic management capabilities and support for micro services and container-based applications.
In 2015, Gartner named Appcito as one of the "Cool Vendors in Enterprise Networking."
