Andhra man mistakes son for wife's lover, hits son with an axe

KURNOOL: A man in Andhra Pradesh attacked his teenage son with an axe after he mistook him as his wife's lover. The incident took place on Friday morning at Gutupalle village of Kurnool district's Bethamcherla mandal.

The 14-year-old victim has reportedly been identified as Parusuram.

According to local police, some problems were going on between the father and the son for the last few months.

On Friday, the accused Somanna hit his son with an axe and the boy sustained major injurious on his hands and shoulder.

Somanna's mother was allegedly having an extramarital affair, said police. He attacked his son who was lying on the bed.

The accused, however, broke down after he realised that he had hit his son. He has been charged under Section 307 of the IPC.
